Background “Cool Reflections” by a fool for photography.By 1994, Monique had become a consultant and speaker, sought out for her unique perspective and growing expertise in well-being and stress relief. This is when she worked with bestselling author Deepak Chopra, MD, at the Chopra Center (formerly The Center for Mind Body Medicine). Subsequently, she co-founded San Diego Women of Vision & Action facilitating empowerment and transformation. Following that she worked with Newton Learning, a personal and professional development company. At all three, she contributed her expertise, while continuing to make great strides in her own development. In 2001, she became a certified professional coach through Guiding Mindful Change (GMC). In 2005, the president of GMC recruited Monique to coach for their employee wellness program. Her background includes eight years in health care, 20 years in business development, and 25 years in personal and professional development. She moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2001 for ongoing training with Zen teacher Adyashanti for invaluable exploration of the mind, human behavior and self-actualization. Monique has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is certified as a coach and facilitator. She is involved with Bay Area chapters of the International Coach Federation, National Speakers Association, and the American Society for Training and Development. Personal Wellness “Movement Magic” with a dancin' fool.Monique enjoys exceptional health, well-being and awareness. She is stronger and exercises more in midlife, climbing Half Dome in Yosemite at 48. She dances weekly with 5Rhythms, her favorite activity. Yoga, Qi Gong, and hiking provide more fun and balance. Her motto for exercise is, “Do what you enjoy and spend time in nature.” Her motto for nutrition is, “Remember quality, quantity and time of day.” Mostly fresh, whole, non-processed foods form her well-balanced diet. A wonderful Italian dinner or potluck offer occasional treats. Working in healthcare in the 90s and observing many doctors and nurses eating, she was surprised at how much better her diet and physical fitness was than theirs. Her weight, cholesterol and blood pressure are all low normal. “On Retreat” by a lover of silence.Monique meditates regularly and continues to study wisdom from the masters. She has a deep sense of peace and contentment throughout her life. When life throws her a curve, she sits, closes her eyes, and experiences waves of emotion and thoughts come and go. She’s rooted in something deeper that does not waver. Life goes on. Allowing it, not resisting it is her way. Awareness and insight into truth guides right action.
