Electing to Be Conscious & Calm

Electing to Be Conscious & Calm

By : -

When “we the people” are more conscious, it will be reflected in the leadership and laws. Judgment, condemnation and self-righteousness are not the answer. Consciousness, rather, is discerning, straightforward, and firm…and…generous, compassionate and curious. Zen teacher Adyashanti says, “Can you say ‘no’ with a big ‘yes’ behind it?” Awareness allows us to see from a higher vantage point.

As consciousness, we all have wisdom, compassion and goodness deep inside. As human’s we also have egos with a personality type and a lifetime of conditioning. When stressed, we’ve learned how to respond and do so through a mind-body type, according to Deepak Chopra, MD, and Ayurveda .  Some people primarily get aggressive and angry, some get anxious and worried, some get apathetic and depressed. Many are a mix. Let us see through the masks of ego and have more compassion for each other and ourselves.

We cannot control the mystery. It unfolds and we do our best within it. Don’t let happiness depend on political outcomes. Happiness comes with wisdom…with consciousness. It is full and does not waiver based on any outer event. It knows when to take action, what to say, and when to let go. Otherwise, we suffer at ego’s hands.

Join me in prayer for the highest good of all and in making peace with the election results…even though we may not understand why things happen as they do. That’s why they call it a mystery.
